Solo sex does not distract from partnered sex. For women, research indicates that the more frequent and satisfying the partnered sex, the more they masturbate. For men, masturbation doesn’t seem to be linked to the quality or quantity of sex they have with others - they’ll do it irregardless! As we learn more about masturbation habits through scientific studies, it’s important to remember that masturbation serves many purposes and its practice may be more nuanced than we believe.
